Accoya Wood USA Facility

Location: Kingsport, Tennessee
Industry: Construction

Project Overview

Incorp Industries was selected by O’Neal Engineering to play a crucial role in the construction of the new Accoya® wood production facility project in Kingsport, Tennessee. The plant will replicate the successful design and technology of Accsys Technologies’ production facility in the Netherlands. We are anticipating the first Accoya ‘made in the USA’ to be ready for the market in 2024.

Objective

Incorp to perform heat tracing, mechanical insulation, and scaffolding services for the project, all our signature services required for the new Accoya® wood production facility. The Accoya USA facility will have an initial production capacity of ~43,000m³ per year. Independent research indicates a market potential in North America of at least 440,000m³ to 950,000m³ per year, allowing for future expansion at the Kingsport plant. The facility will be connected to the existing Eastman Kingsport site for seamless supply integration, with plans for closed-loop reuse and recycling of acetyls.

Application

The scope of work included critical services such as insulation for heat, conservation, personal protection, scaffolding services, and process utilization, including 28,000 LF of pipe and 25,000 SF of equipment.

Result

Incorp’s selection for this project was driven by an aggressive timeline and a track record of successfully completing safe, high-quality projects. The scope of work was meticulously planned and executed to ensure compliance with the demanding schedule, which was completed on time and on budget with no recordable accidents.
